Get blogging! It's an easy way to let the wider school community know what's happening in school. You could create your own weebly, blogspot or edublogs (just three of the many available.)
If you are really new to blogging, download this little booklet to help. Parents have enjoyed looking at class blogs, but they have really appreciated the ones that have kept them informed during our residential trips. |
Some examples of class blogsTo browse our school website and look at the different class blogs, click on the photo of our school - Roydon Primary.
Or you could go straight to a class 2/1 blog, which has pages showing where the class bears have been travelling. To see how films have been embedded, look at my blog from last year, or maybe the year before. You will see how some mantles have developed in class too. |
Mapping with Google Maps
Look where our class bears have been!

Interactive maps Have you ever used google Earth in the classroom. The first time a child sees it is always one of those 'awe and wonder' moments. If you are like me you will use google maps regularly to plot routes or to check where places are. How about creating a class map to show where you have all been on your travels. The one on the left shows where our class bears have been travelling. You can create your own here.
Free editable mapsIf you would rather create a powerpoint map then upload a ready made document here. It is one I found on the web (credit to the owner will be given when I remember where I found it!)
